Ingredients- 1 cup chana dal 1 onion 1 tomato 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 inch ginger 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp garam masala 1 green chilli 2 tsp coriander powder Few coriander leaves Tamarind pulp 1 tbsp jaggery 1 cup water 2 tbsp oil Salt to taste For tadka: 1 tsp cumin seeds 2 red chillies 2 tbsp oil Preparation- Heat the oil. Add cumin seeds, onions, tomatoes and mix well. Add ginger, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala. Add the dal, green chilli, salt, water, jaggery, tamarind pulp and let it cook for sometime. For tadka – In oil add cumin seeds and red chillies and spread over the dal.
