How to Make Porridge – Healthy Breakfast Recipe

This is my go-to healthy breakfast recipe – an easy healthy porridge recipe that’s ready in minutes!

Healthy Porridge Recipe:

– 1/3 cup (40g) oat flour or plain oats (you can make your own oat flour by blending plain oats in a food processor/blender until you have a fine flour)
– 2/3 cup (200ml) milk/water or a combination of the two. I like to use hemp milk or almond milk.
1 ripe banana
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp flaxseed
1 tbsp raisins
1 tsp Organic Burst maca powder
Toppings: fruit, dried fruit, nuts, nut butter, seeds, cacao nibs, hemp hearts, more cinnamon…or anything else you like!

Method:
– Mash your banana using the back of a fork
– Add your oats/oat flour, cinnamon and milk/water to a small pan. Cook over a medium/low heat stirring continuously.
– Add in your mashed banana and raisins and continue stirring.
– Once the porridge reaches your desired thickness, take off the heat then mix in the flaxseed and maca powder.
– Serve in your favourite bowl and top with your favourite fruit, nuts, seeds and anything else you fancy!

  1. when I was a kid, we made porridge with water and only put a snip of milk on top in the bowl.
    now we make it with all milk. raw milk of course..since the old falsified ideas of cholesterol dangers are out the window..it being really sugar that's the vein clogger..we can now enjoy our porridge any old time to the max. slurp.
